Samaha sentenced to prison

The Lebanese military court has sentenced former government minister Michel Samaha to 13 years' confinement with hard labor and deprivation of civil rights for transporting explosives for Syrian interests. The prosecution had sought the death penalty. With credit for time served, he will be imprisoned for another nine and one-half years. Details here (en français).

Interestingly, funds Samaha was to use to pay his accomplices were confiscated and turned over to the Lebanese Army. Does this suggest the military court had a conflict of interest?
